As per information provided by the sheriff's office, a Pinellas County deputy demonstrated remarkable courage by leaping from one rapidly moving boat to another in an effort to regain control of an unmanned vessel on Sunday.
According to the investigation, the boat's captain was thrown overboard, but the boat continued to surge ahead, reaching speeds of 41 mph without anyone at the helm.
Despite the coast guard's attempt to employ a device to halt the boat's propeller, their efforts proved unsuccessful.
In response, a deputy from the sheriff's office skillfully synchronized their boat's speed with that of the runaway vessel. Visual evidence captures the moment when the deputy managed to ascend onto the vessel and successfully assume command.
Fortunately, a benevolent passerby stepped in to rescue the stranded boat's original driver.
